About

Helen Audrain is a Consultant Dermatologist in Bristol. Established in 2016, her private dermatology interests include the diagnosis of skin rashes, acne treatment, vulval dermatology, and skin cancer. Helen offers mole and full skin checks and carries out minor skin surgery regularly as part of her private and NHS practices. Helen holds an NHS Consultant Dermatologist post at North Bristol NHS Trust, Southmead Hospital.
After completing a bachelor of science degree (BSc) in Physiology from Cardiff University in 2003, Helen qualified in Medicine (MBChB) from the University of Warwick in 2007. Helen completed core medical training and achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2011. She trained as a specialist in Dermatology in Bristol and Bath hospitals for 5 years before gaining her consultant post in 2016. Helen is a registered specialist with the General Medical Council, and a full member of the British Association of Dermatologists.

Helen has extensive training in managing a breadth of dermatology conditions from acne to eczema.

Vulval Dermatology

Helen is a specialist in female genital dermatology and is experienced in treating many vulval conditions including lichen sclerosus, psoriasis, and eczema. Helen receives referrals from Consultants from the south-west of England and she leads the NHS vulval skin service at Southmead Hospital. A vulval consultation with Helen will include a detailed assessment of the genital skin and a comprehensive treatment plan (if a vulval skin biopsy is indicated this will incur an extra fee).

Skin lesion assessment and Skin Surgery

A core role of Helen’s is the diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous skin lesions and skin cancer. Services include dermoscopy, mole checks, skin lesion assessment and skin surgery. Helen is also a qualified aesthetics practitioner in the use of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. Her foundation training was completed at the Harley Academy® in London.

Fees

Initial consultation £195 (30 minutes)
Follow – up consultation £130 (15-20 minutes)
Tests (blood tests, skin mycology, skin swabs etc) – start from £91 and vary according to the test needed. Please note that often no tests are required.
Skin surgery – encompasses the surgeon fee plus a hospital fee so the total cost starts from around £400. Please call for more information. Please note that a consultation is required prior to surgery.
