Consultant Dermatologist, Bristol
Helen Audrain is a Consultant Dermatologist at North Bristol NHS Trust, based at the Dermatology Department at Southmead Hospital, a leading tertiary referral centre for skin cancer. Helen is a core member of the specialist multidisciplinary team for the management of skin cancers. Her clinics include general dermatology, rapid access skin cancer clinics, weekly complex dermatology and skin surgery.
After completing a bachelor of science degree (BSc) in Physiology from Cardiff University in 2003, Helen qualified in Medicine (MBChB) from the University of Warwick in 2007. Helen completed core medical training and achieved membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2011. She trained as a specialist in Dermatology in Bristol and Bath hospitals for 5 years before gaining her consultant post in 2016. Helen is a registered specialist with the General Medical Council, and a full member of the British Association of Dermatologists.
Helen has had extensive training in managing common and complex inflammatory skin disease. Her interests include eczema, psoriasis and acne. Helen has a developing interest in vulval dermatology and receives referrals from consultants from the south-west of England. She is a member of the British Society for the Study of Vulval Disease.
Helen is a qualified aesthetics practitioner in the use of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers. Her foundation training was completed at the Harley Academy® in London. Helen is a member of the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group. She currently offers botulinum toxin treatments at the Nuffield Chesterfield Hospital in Clifton, Bristol.
A core role of Helen’s is the diagnosis and treatment of pre-cancerous skin lesions and skin cancer. Services include dermoscopy, mole checks, skin lesion assessment and skin surgery.
First consultation £150 (30 minutes)
Follow – up consultation £120 (15-20 minutes)
Tests (blood tests, skin mycology, skin swabs etc) – start from £91 and vary according to the test needed. Please note that often no tests are required.
Skin surgery – encompasses the surgeon fee plus a hospital fee so the total cost starts from around £300. Please call for more information. Please note that a consultation is required prior to surgery.

Dr Audrain's private practice is based at The Nuffield Hospital Bristol - The Chesterfield. Clinics are usually on Wednesdays.
